Save the Children and British Gas have announced the next funding round of the Help Yourselves Awards, encouraging applications for grants up to £1,000 from local community projects that will have a positive impact on the circumstances and experiences of children and young people.

Applications are invited for projects that improve life chances, are strongly young-person led and benefit vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. Higher-level Awards of up to £5,000 and £10,000 will be available in future funding rounds to those living in communities experiencing severe poverty. The deadline for completed applications is Friday 28 March for projects taking place between June and the end of August 2008.
